Finally, spring is blossoming, and I don’t know about you, but I have Spring fever! After all, it was a long winter, especially with the pandemic – right? But now, we are experiencing the rebirth of spring flowers, delicate new leaves, and the return of many different kinds of birds. Even the bears are coming out of hibernation! If you find that your heart has also been in an extended period of hibernation, connecting with the gentle unfurling of the Springtime energy in your daily balance routines helps release tensions that may be surrounding your own Heart Chakra. Of course, green is also the symbolic color of the Heart Chakra.
The Lovely Qualities of the Color Green
What are the indications that your heart chakra is blocked?
Good indications that your Heart Chakra is not open includes the following:
- A collapsed chest area.
- Shallow breathing.
- Hunched and tense shoulders.
- Over-intellectualizing and extreme analytical tendencies.
- Living in your head and not in touch with your feelings.
Any of these symptoms of a closed Heart Chakra might point to your experiencing something painful in your life that has left you guarded with your feelings.
Our bodies reflect our emotions.
Of course, our bodies reflect our emotions, in addition to the need to blunt our emotions. In fact, we’re not even consciously aware of this process.
…”somatizing painful emotions by closing down your Heart Chakra will also block the flow of prana throughout your body. When pranic energy is not able to circulate through your body with ease, your vitality will likewise become diminished. Many different health problems can be directly linked to blocked energy throughout the body. In the long run, you may even develop heart or breathing problems if your Heart Chakra remains blocked for many years, hence the saying that he or she died of a broken heart.”

Green is around us almost anywhere on our big, beautiful earth. For some, it symbolizes the vitality of life energy and also financial income. Green is also symbolic of resurrection which we see each Spring. Colors are an important part of the human psychological and spiritual experience that dates back beyond written history. Incidentally, one of my favorite colors for as long as I can remember is green.
However, traditionally, green is the color of the Heart Chakra which helps us with our emotions, our compassion, and our empathy towards ourselves and others. A nice and effective way is to use it in meditation as a green symbolic color.
Bring the outside in for healthy homes.
It is usually preferred by most to go outside and enjoy the greenery first hand. But it is also a great suggestion to bring the outside in. Do this with the use of houseplants, windows, lighting, and other easy-to-access items around your home. Fresh, green plants help in many ways, some of which are listed below:
- They help reduce stress and thereby anxieties.
- Real plants sharpen your attention.
- Working with plants is therapeutic.
- Plants help you recover from illnesses faster.
- They even help boost your productivity.
- Plants help improve your work environment.
- Plants improve the quality of the air.
We all want a healthy, breathable intimate environment. House plants are the fastest, easiest way to bring the healthy greenery of nature into our homes.
Pay attention to the healthy green vegetables.
This color soothes and aids in the human digestive process. For healthy results, I recommend that we eat peas and other green and leafy vegetables. Healthy green veggies such as kale, spinach, chard, and collards is considered by many to be the most nutritious food you can eat.
They’re packed with vitamins A, B, and K. In addition, they are also rich in essential minerals like calcium, iron, potassium, and magnesium, as well as antioxidants, which protect cells against damage. Green is the symbolic color for wholesome, healthy meals.
The cultural significance of ‘give it a green light!’
When you add green to your intimate environment, you do yourself a big favor. If you want a living space that helps you feel balanced, healthy, and youthful, decorate your home with touches of green. Many cultures in the world see green as a sign of progress, thus the phrase, ‘give it a green light.’
Breath in the Spring air and exhale the painful emotions.
Getting to a place where it is safe to relax and breathe in the Spring air is so important for clearing your Heart Chakra. Sit quietly in your safe place and slowly breathe in the Spring air. Then, exhale to allow the spirit of Spring to carry away the painful emotions that are blocking your Heart Chakra. Combine this with yoga stretches to increase the positive effect.
