The fresh, clean smell of lavender is widely in use in air sprays, soaps, shampoos, and many other everyday items. So, it’s no wonder that the Latin name of Lavender is “Lavare”, which means “to wash”.

I use Lavender essential oils to calm and soothe myself when experiencing social anxiety or before going to bed. I just dab a few drops on my upper lip and it works like a charm. So for relief from trauma and anxieties, this essential oil is a wise choice.

Lavender relieves tension, enhances blood circulation, improves respiratory issues. Additionally, it is also popular for the disinfection of the scalp and skin and many use it to enhance hair growth.

One use that I absolutely love is that it is a natural insect repellent. It has no toxic side effects for you or your pets which makes it an excellent choice to replace the icky, toxic, insect repellents on the market today.

In my research, I also find that it is great when you apply it topically on a burn. That’s a useful tip if you’re a foodie and love to cook. Keep a spray bottle of essential oil on hand around the stove.

Its floral scent also has a therapeutic effect on me that helps to reduce anxiety. Here, I am going to share 5 health benefits of Lavender Essential oil that will prove the vitality of this oil in your daily routine.

I use Lavender Oil in my daily skincare routine. I have witnessed positive changes when I applied it to my acne-prone skin. If you want to enjoy similar results then after washing your face apply diluted oil to your face. This will unclog the pores and have an anti-inflammatory effect.

Lavender oil contains anti-oxidants that reduce lines and wrinkles. Apply 3 to 4 drops of lavender oil with coconut oil to moisturize your skin and fight wrinkles. The anti-fungal properties of Lavender Oil inhibit fungal growth as it cleans your skin and reduces irritation.

Lavender oil lightens the skin tone. It also reduces dark spots and acne scars. Because of numerous skin benefits, it is used as an ingredient in cosmetic and skincare products.

I have included Lavender oil in my daily routine and believe me it does wonders. As a natural remedy it not only have physical but mental health benefits. It is not only beneficial hair and skin but its therapeutic properties reduce stress and anxiety. This oil is also safe for babies and adults. It is also beneficial for new moms who are fighting with anxiety, stress and postpartum.

Researchers believe that Lavender oil is still an undiscovered territory. They are doing researches to unveil the hidden benefits of lavender oil and how it is affecting us physically, mentally and spiritually.

While Lavender is a native of the Mediterranean and therefore most at home in sunny, dry climates, it has proved to be adaptable to most environments. Here are a few guidelines for growing Lavender.

Primarily, Lavender plants thrive in warm, well-drained soil, and full sunlight. If you grow the plants or their essential oils, lean soil will encourage a higher concentration of oils. An alkaline or especially chalky soil enhances lavender’s fragrance.

You can grow Lavender indoors successfully with well-drained soil and pots that allow the root ball to have a few inches to spare. Remember that lavender, grown in a container, requires more water than in the garden.
